KUA went on a 17-0 run with 8:00 left in the first half to break open a tight game with tournament host Berwick Academy.  Tri-Captain Gabby Diaz '12 had the hot hand in the first half netting 20 of her 25 points which included five 3-pointers.   Autumn Kariuki recorded her first double-double of the season pulling in a team high 14 boards to go along with 16 points (8-for-16). Sophomore Becca DeTurk filled the stat sheet with 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals while junior Katey Spanos dished out a team-high 5 assists. Fiekah Fataar was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line, a place where Kimball Union has struggled a bit early in the season.  Fataar, a newcomer from South Africa, played a strong defensive game nabbing 4 steals and 5 rebounds while dishing out 3 assists and chipping in with 7 points.

The Lady Wildcats (3-1) were down three players in today's match and lost yet another teammate late in the game.  KUA hopes to make some quick recoveries before heading into the championship game tomorrow versus the winner of Middlesex/Pingree.

***Gabby Diaz advances to the championship round of the tournament's three-point contest after sinking 3 money balls and 9 other shots from beyond the arc in the span of one minute.
