KUA loses home opener 58-45

KUA Boys Basketball lost their home opener to Wilbraham Monson School last night 58-45.  KUA got off to a quick start but could not overcome poor shooting in the first half as they relinquished an early lead going into the locker room down six, 24-18. Wilbraham established their inside game throughout the first half and for much of the second half as they built a ten point lead midway through the second half.  Devon Thomas coming off the bench provided the needed spark as KUA battled back to get within one 43-42 with just under three minutes to play in the game.  Ryan Daye stepped up, providing much of KUA’s offense during that run, scoring 19 of his game high 26 points in the second half.  A few critical possessions went Wilbraham’s way as they hit successive threes to build their lead back up to 13 as the game ended. No rest for the weary, KUA travels down to Deerfield this afternoon.
