For just the 2nd time this season, the Lady Wildcats failed to score over 40 points losing to Cushing Academy 51-36 on the road. The ‘Cats tied the game late in the first half on a put-back bucket by freshman Rebecca DeTurk (Hartland, VT) and two foul shots by senior Tori Agel (Meriden, NH). KUA went on a 11-0 run to nearly finish out the half before the Penguins hit a three-pointer to head into the locker room with a slim 27-24 lead. Poor shot selection, a low scoring percentage and tough defense by the hosts, Kimball Union could only muster 12 points in the second half. Sophomore Autumn Kariuki was the only player in double figures for KUA as she netted 12 and pulled in a team high 7 rebounds. Ainsley MacDonald pulled down 6 boards while Tori Agel contributed 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks on the day. KUA committed a season-low 8 turnovers in the contest.
KUA drops to 11-6 with the lost.
