Lady Wildcats Get Back on Track

Eileen Williams

Four different KUA Wildcats scored double-figures in today’s 64-37 victory at home over Brewster.  KUA, donning pink uniforms in an effort to raise cancer awareness and prevention, raced out to 12-0 lead in the early-going, but defense was the name of the game as the Cats forced 16 Bobcat turnovers in the first half.  Tori Agel of Meriden led all scorers with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 steals followed closely by Greydy Diaz (13 points, 5 assists), Autumn Kariuki (13 points, 14 rebounds) and Gabby Diaz (12 points, 6 assists, 5 steals).  Gretchen Schissel (Newport, NH) chipped in with 4 points while swing player Ashlee Hadlock scored her first varsity points of the year.  Ainsley MacDonald (5 rebounds, 3 steals) and freshman Rebecca DeTurk (5 rebounds and 4 points) played tenacious defense throughout today’s contest.

KUA improves to 12-6 on the season and will travel to Class A St. Paul’s School on Friday.
