KUA played host to Class A Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School from Cambridge, MA and came away with a much needed 57-30 victory. It was a back and forth battle in the first 16 minutes with BB&N's Skylar Calagaris draining some long range 3's and KUA's Greydy Diaz netting 10 points for the Lady Wildcats. KUA gained some breathing room by going on a 9-0 run to end the half bringing the score to 30-21.
The second half was all Kimball Union as the Cats held the visiting Knights to just 9 points in the final stanza. Diaz continued to be hot shooting 75% from the floor (9-for-12) and ending the day with 18 points. Great ball movement and balanced scoring (20 assists and all 8 players in the scoring column) put the game away early. Freshman Gretchen Schissel hit a timely 3 pointer just as the shot clock was running down and both Tori Agel and Autumn Kariuki shot 50% from the field netting 6 apiece. Point Guard Gabby Diaz played a well-rounded game with 13 points, 9 assists and 5 defensive rebounds.
