KUA Drops Game to Bulls

Despite grabbing a season high 52 rebounds, the Wildcats lost to the Holderness Bulls 67-63 in a Lakes Region League match-up today in Alumni Gymnasium.  KUA's downfall was two-fold:  17 turnovers and a 10-for-24 performance from the free throw line.  Give credit to the Cats though as they never gave up.  Even as they found themselves down by 15(45-60) with 5 minutes left to play, the Wildcats put a scare into the Bulls by mounting an 18-6 run to cut the deficit to three with 7.4 seconds remaining.

Tori Agel was saddled with 2 fouls early on and sat the final 9+ minutes of the first stanza. Well rested, Agel came out with a vengeance in the second half pulling down 13 of her 14 rebounds to go along with 8 points and 4 assists.  Ainsley MacDonald and Gabby Diaz kept KUA in the game with their sharp shooting from the outside.  MacDonald hit her first 4 shots of the game and finished with 10 points while Diaz nailed 5 treys en route to an 18 point game. Seniors Shelby Pillsbury (9 rebounds) and Greydy Diaz (7 rebounds) also contributed double figures with 11 and 16 points respectively.  Emily Kelly '10 had an impressive outing grabbing a career high 11 boards, seven of which were on the offensive glass.

KUA drops to 7-4 and looks to get a win on Wednesday when they host a talented NMH team.
