Kimball Union's Boys basketball team won their opening round game at the Middlesex School Friday night 57-44 against Nobles. KUA jumped to a 10-0 lead but a pesky Nobles team gradually warmed to the challenge to make it a three point game midway through the first half. KUA went on another spurt to build the lead to 11 at the half 31- 20. Nobles had a quick start in the second half scoring 7 straight points before KUA started to take control of the game. Din Moore lead a balanced attack with ten points; Grant White and Keith Callies each added 9. Akeem Labitue and Gus Cruz provided a defensive spark as they saw extended time in the second half. KUA will play Middlesex, winners of their first match, at 10 AM on Saturday.
