Kimball Union Defeats Brewster to Finish on top of Lakes Region League

Kimball Union hosted Brewster in their final regular season match today and came out on top 4-0.  Kimball Union scored in the 10^th minute when Nathan McCann knocked home a rebound of an Ike Okpoebo free-kick that hit the crossbar.   Despite a great deal of pressure Brewster held strong and the score remained 1-0 at the half.  Knowing the Lakes Region League title was in their grasp, Kimball Union scored in the 55^th minute when Nick Lincoln put in a rebound from an Andrew Jacobson shot following a corner kick.  Senior Ike Okpoebo scored a goal of his own on a breakaway in the 60^th minute on a fine through ball fro Ben Newton, and with 15 minutes to go Chris Eldred sealed it with a brilliant free kick from just outside the box.  All in all, the Wildcats played well and they saw Ben Wyskiel, Brian Moses, Ethan Creeger and Chibby Ironnah play their best matches of the year.  The back line of Neil Mackenzie, Cody Danforth, Nick Lincoln and Iver Hulleberg helped Ryan Hoyt and Nate Goss-Woliner split the shutout which was the 10^th of the season.  Kimball Union should find out their tournament pairing tomorrow
