Kimball Union 2-0 Over Exeter

Kimball Union hosted Class A power Phillips Exeter Academy today in Meriden.  Today’s match had playoff implications for both teams and in a very well played match Kimball Union came out on top 2-0.  The visitors came out very strongly and Nate Goss-Woliner was made two early saves to keep things even at 0-0.  In the 33rd minute Andrew Jacobson headed home a cross from Ben Newton to score the eventual game winning goal.  The second half was a back and forth affair with both teams creating chances. Keeper Nate Goss-Woliner punted a ball forward to Nathan McCann who went in alone and finished the necessary insurance goal with 23 minutes to go.  Exeter continued to pressure and throw players forward, but Kimball Union, led by Nick Lincoln, Elisha Kahan and Iver Hulleberg in the back, were equal to their challenges and made the 2-0 score stand up.   Kimball Union hosts Brewster on Saturday to close out the regular season.
