Members of Boys JV soccer and Boys Thirds soccer teamed up today in a home game against White Mountain School. Although the patchwork group had never played together before, they were able to come together and form a strong, cohesive unit. Fifteen minutes into the match the scoring began when James Joo struck a ball that found the back of the net off a cross from Felix Ackerman. Minutes later, Daria Mashouf (true to his word) scored after Patrick "Patches" Callahan was able to spring him free putting the Wildcats up 2-0. Mere seconds before the first half ended, White Mountain managed to get on the scoreboard with a well struck volley which just beat a diving Tom Timpone. The second half was a tough fight with both sides working hard to emerge victorious. Neither team was able to add to the scoreboard until Olivier Theurillat broke the game open by driving a ball home with 9 minutes remaining. Sebastian Unzue rounded out the Wildcats' victory by scoring with a flick of his heel, after a pass from Dan Ciocchi making the final score 4-1. Stellar performances were turned in by all members of the Wildcats today and it was great to see the Boys JV and Boys Thirds team work so well together.
