Kimball Union traveled to New Hampton, NH to face league rival New Hampton School. New Hampton were averaging better than five goals per game and with foul weather in the forecast, it was going to be a test for the KUA Wildcats. Early in the game, New Hampton were determined and forceful on both ends of the field. While KUA didn’t concede any dangerous chances, they were on their heels. Midway through the half Kimball Union started to find their rhythm. Late in the half, Nathan McCann scored on great head ball from a free kick taken by Nick Lincoln in the 42nd minute. Nate Goss-Woliner made several saves in the first half to keep the score 1-0. Kimball Union opened up the second half in fine fashion. New Hampton kicked off and KUA won the ball and proceeded to string together four passes through the midfield before Ben Newton received a ball on the right wing which he crossed for Ike Okpoebo to finish to make it 2-0 in the 46th minute. Neil Mackenzie closed the scoring after Iver Hulleberg played him a ball across the field and Mackenzie played a long ball into the upper left corner. Credit goes to the KUA defense which had a hand in two of the goals and kept the high-powered New Hampton offense off the board. Nate Goss-Woliner and Ryan Hoyt shared the shutout.
