On a beautiful day in Meriden, the Wildcats of Kimball Union played host to the Zebras of Middlesex. Kimball Union and Middlesex battled cleanly and fairly for the full 90 minutes. Middlesex was led by centerback Patrick Barry and goalkeeper Tucker Blanton. They organized and held strong throughout the match. Kimball Union came out strongly in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net. Matt Critchlow had a near miss and Tyler Bicknell hit the crossbar. The second half featured much of the same with Kimball Union continuing to throw players forward, but they still couldn’t find the goal they needed. The Kimball Union defense was outstanding on the day. They allowed one shot from 40 yards that sailed well over the net. The senior backline of Tom Seo, Nick Lincoln, Cody Danforth and Iver Hulleberg as well as center midfielders Nate McCann and Elisha Kahan made it an easy day for keeper Nate Goss-Woliner, who didn’t need to make any saves, to record his first shutout of the season. Kimball Union travels to Tabor Academy on Saturday.
