The JV girls put out a great effort on a very cold day to beat Holderness for the first time in many, many years! This year, the teams were evenly matched and both coaches agreed to play all their girls. It came down to the final doubles match to determine the winner. Our players, #1 Rachel Rudd, #2 Judith Athelstanlowe, and #3 Meredith Danko, faced some tough competition but did well to keep their matches close. It was up to #4 Nicolle Moore (8-6), #5 Maria Cricco (8-2) and #6 Lillie Butler (8-4) to give us three wins going into the doubles matches.
Abby Plummer and Erika Finkelstein played #1 doubles and although they came from behind to keep it close, the outcome was a loss 6-8. Meghan Dolliver and Diane Reilly won the second match they have ever played 8-4 at #3. The last match of the day gave us an exciting win when Christina Laganas in her first ever match paired up with Nicolle Moore and cruised through to an 8-3 victory.
This was a great win for the JV girls' tennis team.
