On Saturday, KUA Boys JV Hoops gained a resounding 20 point victory over Brewster. The win ended a two game losing skid. KUA never trailed in the game, and made it very clear from the start that this was going to be a Wildcat victory. Jumping ahead early, KUA’s Ben Hollander was nearly unstoppable. Hollander worked relentlessly underneath, getting open shots and layups. Hollander finished the game with a team high 13 points. Akeem Labitue added 7 points while running KUA’s offense with patience and control. Turbo Weitzel broke out of a slump to score 9 points, including two 3’s, and collected a number of rebounds. Mike Staton contributed 7 points, Justin Burke had 6,and Sean Johnson had 3 off the bench. Underneath, Adam McNamara and Nathan Braginetz played well, with Liam Corcoran adding speed and tenacity defensively. Jeff Nicholson, Tom Timpone, and Kevin Vieira put in very solid minutes. KUA travel to Holderness on Wednesday.
