KUA Prevails over Gann Academy

Senior Tri-Captain Lauren Darnall shined in today's 55-43 victory over visiting Gann Academy.  Darnall hustled from start to finish filling the stat sheet with impressive numbers: seventeen points (2 buckets from downtown and 3-for-4 from the charity stripe), 7 rebounds, 6 steals, 3 assists and drew two offensive charges all while committing only 2 turnovers.  Teammate Tori Agel recorded her first double-double of the year with 10 points/10 boards and also dished out a team-high 6 assists.  A strong effort was needed from all the Wildcats as Gann was a scrappy, well-coached team.  Autumn Kariuki continued her sharp shooting streak from the foul line posting a 5-for-6 performance.  She ended the day with 11 points for the Cats.  Greydy Diaz (10 points, 3 assists), Faith Smith, Bianca Brenz (2 steals) and Shelby Pillsbury (6 points) combined for 22 rebounds while playing stingy defense.

KUA improves to 5-4 and looks forward to a rematch with Proctor Academy at home on Wednesday at 1:45p.m.  Go Wildcats!!
