Omari Mobley had 4 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, and a 2 point conversion to lead the KUA Wildcats to a 42-21 win over New Hampton School. The KUA defense began the scoring, as Timm Kaminski forced a fumble with a hard hit and Ali Hakim scooped and scored from 55 yards. QB Michael Gerardi quickly went to work, finding Mobley for a 45 yard touchdown. Colby Husby blocked a New Hampton punt in through the back of the endzone, making the score 16-0. Gerardi hooked up with Mobley one more time before the half on a 35 yard scoring strike to put the score 22-0 at the half.
KUA extended the lead in the 2nd half, as Husby broke off a 55 yard run. New Hampton got on the board with a nifty drive, making the score 28-7. The Wildcats responded, as Gerardi tossed his third TD of the day to Mobley. After a successful Gerardi to Mobley two point conversion the score read 36-7. Mobley capped off his productive day with a 50 yard interception return for a touchdown. New Hampton would find the endzone twice during the last six minutes of the game, resulting in the final score of 42-21.
Defensive standouts for the Wildcats included Husby (interception), Kaminski, Ethan Lee (fumble recovery), and Alex Gray.
The Wildcats get back to action next Saturday in Portsmouth, RI against The Abbey at 2:00pm.
