KUA vs Cushing

2/24 Kimball Union Boys Basketball team finished out their season on a winning note defeating a strong Cushing team 66-63, once again in a game that was decided in the final minute of play.  Up 33-28 at half, KUA  hit critical shots throughout the second half to hold  Cushing at bay.  Joel Booker went 9 for 10 from the foul line in the second half, hitting his final  free throw to put KUA up three with 17 seconds left on the clock.  Cushing then missed two shots in their final possession under hard pressure from KUA's defense.  KUA's Charlie Claflin set the tone for the game on the defensive end working hard throughout the game to stop Cushing's guards penetrating off the dribble while Pichon Duplan was also effective in neutralizing Cushing' strong post play as well.  Joel Booker lead KUA in scoring with 25 points, Devin Wooten kicked in with 20, and Peter McNamara had 16.
