Battling sickness and injury the Wildcats played New Hampton hard for 4 quarters. Thank to a strong effort by senior goalie Chris Bassi.
It was a long day for KUA faceoff guys as New Hampton's all-american faceoff man went 20-20 for the day. After sprinting out to a 2-0 lead early Ethan Howll socred 5:59 into the first to close the game to 2-1. New Hampton stretched the lead to 5-1 before sophomore midfielder Carson Moe scored with just :26 seconds remaining until half.
New Hampton came out of half fired again, lead by their flawless day at the faceoff X and balloned the lead to 7-2, just one minute into the second half. KUA's defense stiffened behind the efforts of Jordan Harris, Chase Ouhrabka, Matt Egan, Hayes Huwiler and sophomore Zach Whitehead. Ethan Howell and Andrew Robertello netted goals within 1 minute of each other to put KUA down 8-4 heading into the 4Q. KUA's defense coninuted to frustrate New Hampton down the streatch and junior Peyton Ceppetelli scored with 6:16 remaining to narrow the gap to 9-5. That is as close as KUA would get eventially yielding 11-5.
