  • Math and Learning Center Teacher, Leave Coverage

    Math and Learning Center Teacher for Leave Coverage
    Kimball Union Academy is seeking an experienced mathematics teacher and learning specialist/tutor to fill a three month maternity leave March-May, 2020. The position would include planning and teaching two sections of mathematics including a section of Algebra II, and a section of Probability and Statistics; working as a learning center coach for two sections of small group Structured Study Tutorial; coaching one season of afternoon sports such as tennis, lacrosse, cycling or softball; and working in our residential life program. The successful candidate must enjoy working with high school students and teachers in a boarding school setting. A bachelor’s degree or higher in math, education or a closely related field plus 1-3 years (or more) of teaching high school math are required. Employment is contingent upon a clear background check.

  • Advancement Officer - Parent Programs

    The Advancement Officer for Parent Programs is a member of the Advancement team who, under the direction of the Associate Director of Advancement, assists in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding KUA’s families; serves as an advancement liaison; oversee and assists with special projects and advancement initiatives.

    • Manage and coordinate Kimball Union Academy’s giving and engagement programs with parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends.
    • Devises strategies to engage parent volunteers for annual giving through volunteer recruitment, management, and training.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for the Parents’ Association Council to insure their goals and mission align with those of The Academy. Support PAC efforts as they relate to parent engagement and fundraising.
    • Works collaboratively with members of the school’s leadership team and members of the Advancement Office to facilitate relationships and coordinate communication efforts with parent major gift prospects.
    • Coordinate the creation of pertinent marketing materials and scripting for mass annual fund appeals and communications touching all of the above-mentioned constituencies.
    • Plan and oversee events that pertain to various parent and grandparent constituencies, including Family Weekend, Grandparents’ Day, PAC Appreciation Events, Parent Volunteer Training Meetings, and the Senior Class Gift.
    • Assist in the planning and execution of KUA’s annual Day of Giving.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years in educational advancement, or a comparable field.
    • Demonstrated organizational and operational skills; superior interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects.
    • High degree of comfort with the use of technology, familiarity with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
    • Advanced use of MS Office applications required.
    • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
    • High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
    • Some weekend and evening work.
    • Some travel.

  • Full-time Groundskeeper

    We currently have an opening for a full-time groundskeeper to independently perform general grounds keeping activities in all types of weather in order to maintain a well-groomed campus.
    Must be physically able to perform outdoor, all weather work and lift up to 75 pounds. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. Assist in the operation and maintenance of athletic fields, hockey rink and Nordic trails.
