About KUA

Head of School

Tyler Lewis
As we worked at neighboring schools over the past thirteen years, my wife and I watched KUA students and faculty members thrive and excel. In all of our interactions, we would find KUA community members overflowing with pride, spirit, and a sense of belonging to KUA in deep and meaningful ways. Each encounter has affirmed the depth of the human connections that define the culture of KUA. Earlier this year, we visited campus on multiple occasions, and officially moved into Munro House in July. We feel incredibly fortunate to join the community at this exciting time in the life of the school.

Good parental instincts lead us to many of the same conclusions that positive psychology research supports, including the understanding that if kids start from a foundation of respect, love, and support, they will do everything they try at a higher level. At KUA, we take the time to know and to appreciate every student and invest in each individual to ensure their foundation is unquestioned. Then our thoughtfully designed academic program challenges students to redefine personal excellence in developing the knowledge, skills, and passion of lifelong learners. Beyond academics, our athletic and arts programs are winning New England championships and performing astounding stage productions while developing the skills of those with a passion, but limited opportunity prior to arriving on The Hilltop.

I am certain that a deeper exploration of the sense of belonging in our community that is the catalyst for pursuit of excellence will resonate with you in the same genuine and meaningful way that it has for our family. If new to the school, come visit KUA, or if you have been away for a while, come back and see us, and please explore our website and social media for more understanding of all that is happening at KUA.
