On the last day of April, under cold, rainy skies, the KUA Wildcats took on Gould Academy at home on Pope Field. KUA weathered the elements and wore down their opponent en route to a 13-7 victory and their 4th consecutive win. Eric Megnia scored four goals and assisted on four others. Mike Robertello scored three and assisted on one, while Kenny Speak and Sam O’Shea each scored two. Dom Franco scored the other KUA goal and assisted on another. KUA got off to a 4-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and then scored two more in the second to enter the half up 6-2. The Wildcats scored five unanswered goals in the third quarter before Gould answered with five of their own in the fourth. Chase Leon won 10 of 12 faceoffs while Owen Manly gobbled up 9 ground balls and Jack McCarthy picked up another 6 to give the Wildcats valuable ball possession and transition opportunities. Rick Kronenwett made 14 saves to lead the defense. KUA (7-3) plays Vermont Academy Friday night and then Northfield Mt. Hermon on Saturday.
