KUA holds off St. Paul’s for a 10-9 victory

KUA traveled to the St. Paul’s School for a Monday late afternoon game. KUA built a 6-2 halftime lead and then held off a late 4th quarter St. Pauls’ run to win 10-9. Wildcat goalie Rick Kronenwett made a last second point blank save, one of 14 big stops on the day, to preserve the win for KUA. Eric Megnia scored 3 goals and assisted on another and senior midfielder Mike Robertello also netted a hat trick. Kenny Speak scored 2 goals and added an assists and Nate Wilson also scored one and assisted on another. Dom Franco rounded out the scoring with an assist. Owen Manley led the Wildcats with eight key ground balls while Cam Beecy and Dom Franco dominated the faceoffs with hard-nosed help from their wingmen Reilly Decker, Owen Winslow, Reece Farwell, Chase Leon, and Morgan Dewdney. KUA’s defensive trio, including Jack McCarthy, Trey McDougall, and Chris Anderson, withstood a talented St. Paul’s attack throughout the game. KUA (1-2) plays their home opener Wednesday against Williston at 3:30pm on Pope Field.
