In Their Own Words: Tinashe ’23

Tinashe '23, is from White River Junction, Vermont. He plays on the varsity soccer team. His advice for incoming students is to “take Dance 1! And do things outside your comfort zone.”
What do you love about KUA?
The structure, I love how fast each day goes by. The academic day flies by fairly quickly and sports and activities are something I look forward to every day. Next thing you know it's dinner, then the next day. On Sundays or days I can't attend class, the day feels so much longer. I also love the people, everyone wants you to succeed!

What surprised you the most about being a student during your first year at KUA?
How understanding the teachers are. It feels as if they really want you to succeed, and when you aren't, they are just as worried or frustrated as you are.

What is one piece of advice you'd like to share with incoming students?
Take Dance 1! Do things outside your comfort zone. Those are the things that are going to shape you into who you are. Don't stay in your comfort zone all the time.

Where is your favorite place on campus and why?
The Barn Fieldhouse, because I love playing soccer there with my friends during the cold winter season. I sometimes spend up to three to four hours on weekends because everything else seems to go away when I'm in there.

What's your favorite meal from the dining hall?
Ravioli with sausage and breadsticks!
