How Current is Your Resume?

Anyone out in the “real world” searching for his or her perfect job has labored over a resume. Our sophomores attended a workshop recently with Dr. Catherine Florio Pipas to craft, perfect, and build a resume that tells their story.

Dr. Pipas, a professor at Dartmouth Medical School, spends her time teaching and mentoring undergraduate students entering medical school, medical students entering residencies, and securing faculty positions. At any stage in a person’s career, the resume is a universal tool. Do you know the difference between a Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a resume? Our sophomore students know the specific differences, and are hard at work creating documents that summarize, reflect on, and share their story in a compelling way.

Dr. Pipas’ visit was part of the Integrated Advising program at Kimball Union. This program balances both informal and formal approaches to conversations around important life skills, health and wellness, and preparation for college and beyond.
