Speak About It

Last week, Kimball Union hosted Speak About It, a performance-based sexual violence prevention education organization. The ensemble casts perform in high school and college campuses across the country, and share a compilation of true stories and strategies to support healthy relationships. The performance opened doors for important conversation on our campus, and provided language, tools, and resources that are invaluable and lifelong skills for our students.

Brooklyn Raney, Kimball Union’s Dean of Students, pointed out one of the most important skills addressed: bystander education. “Regardless of the types of issues adolescents or their peers may face, knowing how to be an active bystander will change campuses, cultures, and lives forever. Speak About It tackled how to be an active bystander in a way that was simple, accessible, and encouraged.”
