KUA Boys' Lacrosse: Tradition. Sportsmanship. Excellence

The Kimball Union Academy boys’ lacrosse team played their first game in May 1938, a 6-5 victory over the Dartmouth Freshmen team. During its storied history, the Wildcat program has continued to grow and prosper. A strong sense of tradition and excellence connect the players today to those that paved the road to success before them. Some of the games’ greatest, including legendary 6x NCAA Championship winning Syracuse coach Roy Simmons, Jr, played high school lacrosse at The Academy.

The four pillars of excellence at on the lacrosse field at KUA are: academics, citizenship, effort, and teamwork. Our student-athletes strive to be the best versions of themselves through putting academics first, being an exemplary citizen on our campus, giving their best effort each day, and making their teammates the best player they can be. Adopting this philosophy has helped elevate the meaning of success above the result on the scoreboard.

The Wildcats compete in the competitive Lakes Region conference within Northern New England Lacrosse League. Traditional rivals include many of the top Prep School programs in the country, such as Brewster, New Hampton, Holderness, Proctor, Exeter, in addition to, out of league games against schools from Boston's Independent School League and Western New England Schools. In 2019, KUA traveled to the mid-Atlantic for the first time to compete against independent schools from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York.

KUA has earned two Lakes Region Championships since 2008. During this time, the Wildcats have graduated three All-Americans, three Academic All-Americans, and one Northern New England Player of the year. Six players have competed in the prestigious East-West New England Prep School All-Star Game. Drew Simoneau '11 was named to the MLL All-Star team as a member of the Rochester Rattlers and currently plays for the Atlas Lacrosse Club of the PLL.

Recent graduates have played and continue to play lacrosse at competitive Division I, II, and III programs:
Beloit, Bryant, Catholic, Denison, Endicott, Hartford, Kenyon, Middlebury, Nazareth, Sacred Heart, Rhodes, Rutgers, St. Lawrence University, Skidmore, Springfield, SUNY Plattsburg, Wooster.
