Freshman pitchers Michaela Cokinos and Teegan Duffy combined to throw a no-hitter as the Wildcats beat Brewster 28-2 on Saturday. After surrendering four consecutive walks and two runs to start the game, Cokinos settled in and was perfect from then on out, retiring nine straight batters, including three via strikeout. Duffy came in to pitch the fourth and proceeded to strike out the side. Duffy then pitched a 1-2-3 fifth inning as the Wildcats secured the mercy-rule victory. At the plate, KUA's bats were too much for Brewster's defense, as Emma Lapsley, Lulu Leppard, Shannon Moran, Audrey Donahue, Lyndsey Patten, and Misora Hashiramoto all had multi-hit, multi-RBI games. Lapsley finished with seven RBIs on the day. Leppard had five RBIs, followed by Moran with four, Patten and Donahue with three each, and Hashiramoto with two. Cokinos, Duffy, Molly French, and Lucie Turcotte also batted in runs for the Wildcats.
Sophomore pitcher Emma Lapsley tossed a one-hitter and struck out six in five innings as the Wildcats toppled Brewster 17-1 in Wolfeboro on Friday. Lapsley also helped her own cause at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs. Freshman Lulu Leppard doubled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the third, and doubled in the fifth to go 4-for-4 on the day. Juniors Shannon Moran, Audrey Donahue, and Lucie Turcotte all had multi-hit games, as did sophomore Misora Hashiramoto. Senior Molly French went 1-for-2 with an RBI while sophomore Lyndsey Patten and freshmen Michaela Cokinos and Teegan Duffy reached base multiple times while combining to score eight runs. The two teams meet again on Saturday in Meriden.
After spotting Tilton 13 runs in the first three innings, the Wildcats found their groove and battled to put some runs on the board before falling short to a strong Tilton squad. Defensive errors cost KUA in the first two innings, but then the Wildcats dialed things in and played a strong game in the second half. The fifth inning saw Sophie Coehlo lead off with a double down the line in left, which Emma Lapsley immediately followed with a double of her down, driving in Coehlo. Lulu Leppard kept the rally going, belting her first (of what promises to be many) home run in a KUA uniform. Misora Hashiramoto followed Leppard's home run with a double to right before stealing third and scoring on the overthrow. Lapsley went the distance on the mound and finished with 11 strikeouts.
