    2020 - 2021

The Kimball Union Academy Field Hockey team is made up of a strong group of well-rounded female athletes who work hard both on the field and in the classroom. KUA competes in the Lakes Region League, a league comprised of New Hampshire and Vermont schools within the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC). We travel all over New England to play against other very competitive schools. Our program is perennially among the top in our league, having finished as a finalist in the NEPSAC tournament in 2015, and a quarterfinalist in 2012 and 2018. With a strong tradition of winning, the team captured the New England Prep School Class C Title in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

The 2023 team is made of players from all over the world including places as close as Meriden, NH, and as far as Florida and Germany.

Many Kimball Union Wildcats have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Recent graduates have or are currently playing at James Madison University, Merrimack College, Skidmore College, Utica College, and St. Lawrence University.

  • Wildcats Make a Comeback But Not Enough

Wildcats were on the road today at New Hampton School to take on the Huskies. It was a gorgeous fall day for a game, and the Wildcats were excited to be able to play. However, the Huskies were able to get on the scoreboard quickly with a player that got behind our defenders for a through ball, which created a one v goalie. The Wildcats did not hold back and put one in the net just a few minutes later. Eloise Davis made some great dodges to get around the last few Huskies and sent a through ball for Cam Callahan, who, with a hard sweep, sent the ball into the back of the net. The scored remained 1-1 thought the 1st quarter.

Wildcats put up a good fight in the 2nd quarter, but the Huskies dominated the scoreboard, adding two unanswered goals making it 1-3 at the half.

Huskies came out strong in the 3rd quarter, adding two more to the scoreboard, making it 1-5. Wildcats never gave up and kept putting the pressure on the New Hampton defense. Finally, with 5 minutes left in the quarter, the Wildcats were able to get another one on the board. Abby Flanagan intercepted a Husky pass and sent the ball into our scoring circle to Ari and Eloise, who had a small scramble in front of the net, eventually off a rebound from the goalie Ari Ftorek came up with the ball and scored, making it 2-5.

Wildcats were able to shut-out the Huskies in the 4th quarter. It was a great back and forth game with some great plays from Abby Flanagan, Ainsley Lonczak, and Molly Gesner in the midfield. Our defenders Lulu Leppard and Gretchen Dann played a fantastic game and definitely kept us in it. The final goal of the game came from the Wildcats, with just under 1 minute, the Wildcats earned a corner. Molly Gesner inserted the ball to Eloise Davis, who passed it off to Abby Flanagan. Abby took a shot towards the goalie in which Hillary MacKall redirected around the goalie into the net. The final score was 5-3 New Hampton.

Tess Boden and Amelia Keith shared equal time in the net for the Wildcats.

Wildcats will travel to Proctor Academy on Saturday, October 17th, for a 2:30 pm Game.
