  • KUA drops final game on the road, 3-0

The Wildcats traveled to Brewster for their sixth and final game of the 2020 season. Brewster scored early and then added a second goal to take a 2-0 lead at the half. After giving up an early goal to start the second half, KUA found their rhythm and were able to push forward and create their own offensive chances at the other end. Despite their determination to find the net, the Brewster's defense held strong and the game ended 3-0 in favor of the hometeam.

KUA graduates a fantastic group of five seniors- Kylie Mellon, Casey Allen, Kat Maniatis, Molly French, and Emily Pariseau. Individually, and together, their passion for the game, program, and each other made the 2020 season a remarkable and entirely wonderful experience for everyone (including the coaches!).
  • KUA wins 2-0 under the lights

Playing under the lights on Senior night, KUA earned a 2-0 win. Tied at the half, the Wildcats needed a little over a minute to score and take a 1-0 lead. Merrill Doherty chipped the ball over the Holderness keeper off a pass from May Little. Little earned her second assist halfway through the second half, this time finding the foot of Mo McBride.
Casey Allen and Kat Maniatis defended with confidence and made dangerous runs out of the back throughout the game. Kylie Mellon stretched the KUA offense with both short and long balls. Molly French played up top and gave the KUA front three possession and pace to start the game. Emily Pariseau controlled the ball and gave the Wildcats possession and composure throughout the game.  KUA (2-3) plays their final game of the 2020 season on Saturday against Brewster.
  • KUA 0 - St Pauls 2

After letting up an early goal, KUA and St. Paul's played scoreless soccer for 70 minutes. With only 8 minutes remaining on the clock and the Wildcats trailing by a goal, Merrill Doherty found space on the left-wing, floated a ball across the 6-yard box, and narrowly missed the incoming foot of Lucie Turcotte. Having escaped the equalizer, St. Paul's was awarded a direct kick moments later and were able to finish to buy themselves the insurance goal and a 2-0 victory. The backline of KUA was solid all day. Emma Lapsey, Kat Maniatis, Julia Walton, Casey Allen, Sasha Lawton, and Allie McCorkel all combined to keep KUA in the game and within tying distance. Goalie Sophie Braver made 3 goal line saves. Midfielder Rachel Sites, Audrey Donahue, and Emily Pariseau worked hard in the midfield. KUA (1-3) takes this weekend off and then resumes play against Holderness next Saturday.
  • KUA falls in back and forth battle, 3-2

The Wildcats traveled to Proctor Academy for a night time matchup between league rivals. KUA struck first when Merrill Doherty found the near post on a long, low shot past the Proctor keeper. Sophie Braver made two outstanding saves in the first half to send the visiting team into the break with a 1-0 lead. Proctor tied the score midway through the second off a cross, and followed shortly afterward to take the lead. Doherty found herself on the penalty mark and tallied her second goal of the game and a 2-2 tie with time running out on both teams. Back and forth action at both ends wound down the game and, unfortunately for KUA, Proctor found the next and final back of the net to win the game 3-2. It was an evenly fought contest with tremendous heart, soul, and talent on both sides of the field. KUA (1-2) continues at home next Saturday against St Paul's.
  • KUA falls on the road, 2-0

    er
The Wildcats traveled to New Hampton for their first road game of the season. KUA found themselves under pressure early, but keeper Sophie Braver gave the backline confidence with two early goal-line saves. KUA managed counterattacks, especially on the left flank. Winger Luc Turcotte served 2 dangerous balls into the 18 and, on the other side, Audrey Donahue created chances on her wing.

KUA's midfield and forwards found more connection in the second half, but the New Hampton capitalized on a corner kick to take a 1-0 lead. With time running out and the Wildcats pushing more players forward, New Hampton converted a penalty kick to take a 2-0 lead and earn the win.

KUA (1-1) travels to Proctor next Saturday.
  • KUA wins opener, 1-0

The Wildcats opened the 2020 season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Tilton.  Despite an early advantage in ball possession, the home team found little gaps in the Tilton defense until Mo McBride hit the post in the 25th minute. This near-chance gave the KUA offense confidence and, in the 33rd minute, Emily Pariseau scored on a direct kick.

KUA continued to press and move players forward, though Tilton handled the pressure with strength and counter-attacks of their own. Both teams pressed to start the second half, but the Wildcat defense stood strong and limited a dangerous Tilton front line from finding the equalizer. At the other end, May Lillie hit the crossbar in her bid to provide KUA the insurance goal.

KUA (1-0) plays 8 games this season.
