  • Wildcats Three-Peat as New England Champions!

    Paul Dore scored on a snapshot from the left wing with 56 seconds left in the game to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Kimball Union Wildcats to their third consecutive NEPSAC hockey championship. In a game that saw Salisbury hold two separate two-goal leads, the Wildcats battled to come back and took control of the game late in the second. Salisbury capitalized on a lucky bounce to take a 1-0 lead after the first and jumped out to a 2-0 lead midway through the second. However, KUA answered as Arlo Merritt roofed a wrist shot on the rush to bring the Wildcats within one. Salisbury tallied again shortly after but a powerplay goal by Tomas Mazura and a shorthanded goal by Zach Taylor with 30 seconds left in the period knotted the game heading into the third. KUA controlled the pace of the game for the final period and set the stage for Dore’s dramatic game-winner. Veeti Kohvakka was excellent in the KUA net, making 25 saves.

  • Wildcats Advance to NEPSAC FInal

    Zach Whitehead scored two goals and Veeti Kohvakka made 21 saves as the #2 seed Kimball Union Wildcats (28-4-2) topped the #3 seed Lawrence Academy 5-1 on Saturday to set up a NEPSAC championship rematch with Salisbury at St. Anselm’s on Sunday at 5:00. The Wildcats took the lead early in the game when Paul Dore tipped home a Zach Taylor shot at 6:53 of the first period. On its next shift, the line of Dore, Taylor, and Seth Stadheim struck again as Dore fed Stadheim in the slot. The Lyme, NH native converted a one-timer for his second straight game-winning goal of the playoffs. With three minutes remaining in the first, Whitehead tipped home a pass from Sullivan Mack to give the Wildcats a 3-0 lead after one. Lawrence converted early in the second, but with only 26 seconds left in the frame, Whitehead scored a crucial goal as he found the top corner on a rush after a nice set up from Devan Newhook and Tomas Mazura. With a 4-1 lead in the third, the Wildcats kept pressing and a blocked shot on the penalty kill by Kyle Penney led to an incredible individual effort by Arlo Merritt, who undressed a Lawrence defender on a one-on-one before deking the goalie and tucking the puck home.

  • Late Goal Lifts Wildcats to Semis

    Seth Stadheim scored with two minutes to play to help lift the Kimball Union Wildcats to a 1-0 over Gunnery School in the quarterfinals of the New England Prep School Championship. Despite having eight powerplays, KUA could not convert with the man advantage and the game remained scoreless until Sullivan Mack and Zach Whitehead set up Stadheim on the rush, where he wristed a shot past the Gunnery goalie with 1:56 left on the clock. Veeti Kohvakka earned the shutout in net, stopping 18 shots. With the win, KUA (28-4-2) advances to the semifinals, where they host Lawrence Academy on Saturday at 3:30 in Meriden.

    Tomas Mazura scored a natural hat-trick and added two assists for a  five-point night as the Kimball Union Wildcats captured the Lakes Region Championship with a 6-2 win over Tilton on Saturday in Meriden. After falling behind 1-0 early, KUA tied the game when Mazura scored on a one-timer from the left circle. In the second, with the game tied at one, Mazura tallied again on a nice feed from Sullivan Mack (1G, 2A) and yet again to complete the natural hat-trick when he converted on the powerplay minutes later. Mack then scored late in the second to give the Wildcats a 4-1 lead heading into the third, where seniors Kyle Penney and Arlo Merritt scored before Tilton got one back late in the game.   • Wildcats Beat Proctor in Lakes Region Semis

    Two juniors powered the offense on senior night as Sullivan Mack and Paul Dore both scored twice as the Kimball Union Wildcats beat Proctor 4-1 in the semi-finals of the Lakes Region playoffs. After falling behind 1-0 early, KUA controlled the play the rest of the way, as Dore scored early in the second period to tie the game. Mack scored his first of the game later in the second when he found the top corner on a shot from the high slot. Leading 2-1 heading into the third, KUA capitalized on an early powerplay as Dore tipped home a pass from Tomas Mazura (2 A) to give the Wildcats the 3-1 lead. Midway through the period, Dore sent a pass to Mack in the neutral zone, and Mack did the rest, beating the defenseman wide before cutting in front of the net to bury his team-leading 27th goal of the year. Junior goalie Zach Paputsakis made 18 saves for the win.

    The Kimball Union Wildcats battled to a hard-fought 1-1 tie with Cushing Academy on Saturday in the second half of a home-and-home weekend. After a scoreless first period, junior Sullivan Mack scored his team-leading 25th goal of the year, with Tomas Mazura earning the assist. Cushing tied the game minutes later and that was it for the scoring, as the Cushing goalie stopped 35 shots and junior Veeti Kohvakka made 25 saves for KUA.

  • KUA Wins First Game of Home-and-Home vs. Cushing

    In the first half of a home-and-home series against Cushing Academy, the KUA Wildcats got two goals from Sullivan Mack and 34 saves from Zach Paputsakis to earn the win in Ashburnham, MA on Friday. After falling behind 1-0, KUA got a goal late in the first when Paul Dore out-skated and out-muscled a Cushing defender before roofing the puck into the top corner to knot the game at one headed into the second. In the second, Mack scored his first of the game and Seth Stadheim buried a Dore pass to put KUA up by two. Cushing got within one in the third, but Carson Moe restored KUA’s two-goal lead midway through the period and Mack scored his second of the game shortly afterward. Christian Felton and Teddy Griffin each had two assists for the Wildcats.

  • Wildcats Secure Top Spot for Lakes Region Playoffs

    Veeti Kohvakka stopped 30 shots and Arlo Merritt scored twice as the Kimball Union Wildcats captured the Lakes Region regular season championship with a 5-2 over Proctor on Wednesday in Meriden. Carson Moe scored early to give KUA the 1-0 lead, but Proctor tied the game on the powerplay to make it 1-1 after one period. In the second, Merritt scored his first of the game off a stretch pass from Christian Felton, while Drew Bennett, set up by Paul Dore, put the Wildcats up 3-1 late in the period. Proctor got within one early in the third before Dore set up Seth Stadheim who found the back of the net to restore the two-goal lead. Merritt put the game on ice later when he finished off a nice passing play from Bennett and Brian Carrabes.

  • Wildcats Settle for Tie with Holderness

    Despite firing 57 shots on the Holderness net, the KUA Wildcats had to settle for a 4-4 tie on Saturday in Meriden. After a scoreless first period, KUA jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second on goals from Seth Stadheim (1G, 1A), Zach Taylor (1G, 1A), and Paul Dore (2G, 1A). However, during a five-minute major against KUA, Holderness potted two powerplay goals and then tied the game late in the period. Dora’s second of the game came on the powerplay midway through the third, but Holderness scored with an extra attacker with less than a minute to play to secure the tie. Zach Paputsakis made 23 saves for the Wildcats, who host Proctor Academy on Wednesday.

  • Wildcats Top Huskies for Second Time in a Week

    Sullivan Mack (1G, 1A) scored the eventual game-winning goal on a wraparound in the second period as the KUA Wildcats topped New Hampton 5-2 on Friday at New Hampton. The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead into the second period after Brian Carrabes and Arlo Merritt (1G, 1A) scored in the first. In the second, New Hampton tied the game with two quick goals before Mack’s game-winner. In the third, Zach Taylor scored a powerplay goal to restore KUA’s two-goal lead and Seth Stadheim put the game on ice with an empty-netter with a minute to play. Tomas Mazura had two assists for the Wildcats and Veeti Kohvakka made 23 saves for the win in net.

  • Wildcats Come Back to Beat Andover

    Down 4-3 heading into the third period, the Kimball Union Wildcats came back to top Phillips Andover 5-4 on Wednesday in Massachusetts. Senior Arlo Merritt (1G, 1A) scored on a wonderful individual effort with two minutes to play in the third to give the Wildcats the win after junior Teddy Griffin (1G, 1A) buried a feed from classmate Tomas Mazura (1G, 1A) to tie the game midway through the frame. KUA started well, as Mazura finished a nice passing play with linemate Zach Whitehead just six minutes into the game. Two minutes later, senior Seth Stadheim scored off a rebound to give KUA the two-goal lead. Andover answered back with a goal of its own late in the first, but on the first shift of the second, senior Drew Bennett tipped home a Christian Felton shot to put KUA up 3-1. Andover then scored three straight to take the lead late in the second, setting up the third-period comeback for the Wildcats. Junior goalies Zach Paputsakis (9 saves) and Veeti Kohvakka (12 saves) split the duties in net.

  • KUA Nets Win Against New Hampton

    Arlo Merritt, Teddy Griffin, and Tomas Mazura each had a goal and an assist while Veeti Kohvakka made 27 saves to help propel the Kimball Union Wildcats past the New Hampton Huskies on Saturday in Meriden. The Wildcats jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first when Sullivan Mack scored his team leading 21st goal of the year, with Mazura earning the assist. Minutes later, Mazura capitalized on the powerplay with assists going to Griffin and Brian Carrabes. The score stayed 2-0 until the third when Griffin, off assists from Merritt and Drew Bennett, scored on a breakaway to give the Wildcats a three-goal cushion. New Hampton got one goal back but Merritt iced the game with an empty-netter, assisted by Bennett, before New Hampton scored once more late in the game.

    The Kimball Union Wildcats got second-period goals from juniors Paul Dore and Sullivan Mack, while fellow junior Veeti Kohvakka made 24 saves, to score a 2-1 victory over a strong NMH team on Wednesday in Massachusetts. After a scoreless first period that saw KUA carry the bulk of the play, Dore converted a nice pass from senior Zach Taylor to give the Wildcats the 1-0 lead. Senior Jack Clarner also assisted on Dore’s tally. Minutes later,  junior Tomas Mazura set up Mack in the slot for the 2-0 with junior Zach Whitehead assisting as well. NMH got within one late in the second but Kohavakka and the Wildcats’ defense shut the door in the third.

  • Wildcats Earn Big Road Win at Tilton

    Behind 38 saves and an assist from junior goalie Veeti Kohvakka, the Kimball Union Wildcats topped the Tilton Rams on Friday in a match-up between two of New England’s top five teams. A back-and-forth first period saw KUA take a 3-2 lead into the locker room on goals from Sullivan Mack, Drew Bennett, and Paul Dore, who converted on a stretch pass from Kohvakka by wristing the puck past the shoulder of the Tilton goalie. KUA continued its strong play in the second period as Dore cashed in on the powerplay for his second of the game and Mack also tallied his second in the middle frame. Tilton pressed in the third period and got one goal back, but Kohvakka was excellent and kept the game out of reach for the Rams. Zach Whitehead, Tomas Mazura, and Brian Carrabes each had two assists for KUA while Kyle Penney and Teddy Griffin also had helpers..

  • KUA Juniors Excel in Win Over Exeter

    Junior goalie Zach Paputsakis made 18 saves and the Wildcats got second-period goals from juniors Sullivan Mack and Brian Carrabes to lead Kimball Union past Phillips Exeter Academy on Wednesday in Meriden. After a scoreless first period, Mack struck ion a breakaway n the second as he took a pass from classmate Zach Whitehead and beat the Exeter goalie to the five-hole for his team-leading 15th goal of the season. On the power play minutes later, Carrabes tipped a blast from fellow junior Teddy Griffin to double the lead, with senior defenseman Jack Clarner also picking up an assist on the play. That was more than enough for Paputsakis, who squashed every Exeter scoring chance throughout the game.

  • Special Teams, Goaltending Lift KUA Over Stanstead

    The Kimball Union Wildcats got a 24-save shutout from junior goalie Veeti Kohvakka and scored three powerplay goals to top Stanstead College 5-0 in Meriden on Saturday afternoon. After a slow start and some key saves from Kohvakka, the Wildcats went to work on the powerplay midway through the first as Tomas Mazura (1 G, 2A) converted on a one-timer to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Shortly thereafter a strong penalty kill from forwards Drew Bennett (1 A) and Brian Carrabes (1 G, 1 A) resulted in a Carrabes tally just as the penalty ended. With a 2-0 lead starting the second period, the Wildcats got an outstanding goal from Sullivan Mack (1 G) with assists going to Zach Whitehead (1 A) and Mazura. Stanstead got into penalty trouble after that and the Wildcats made the visitors pay by scoring two five-on-three goals, the first from senior Devan Newhook (1 G, 2 A) and the second from senior Arlo Merritt (1 G). The 5-0 lead held up through the third with Kohvakka shutting the door at key times in the final frame.

  • Wildcats Bring the Offense Against Brewster in Lakes Region Action

    Eleven different Wildcats found the back of the net as KUA cruised to a 13-1 win over Brewster Academy on Friday night in Meriden. Senior captain Christian Felton (2 G) scored the first two goals of the game for KUA, both on the powerplay in the first period. Sullivan Mack (2 G) and Jack Clarner (1 G, 1 A) also tallied for KUA in the opening frame. In the second, the Wildcats kept the foot on the gas as freshman Griffin Hatley (1 G) scored his first goal in a KUA uniform and Kyle Penney (1 G, 3 A) scored on a two-on-one minutes later while senior Drew Bennett (1 G, 1 A) also scored. Paul Dore (1 G, 2 A) and Carson Moe (1 G) both scored short-handed goals on the same Brewster powerplay to make the score 9-1 after two periods. In the third, KUA received goals from Mack, Seth Stadheim (1 G, 2 A), Brian Carrabes (1 G, 2 A), and Connor Chalmers (1 G, 1 A). Zach Paputsakis made 18 saves for the win and Jonah Silverman stopped all three shots he faced after replacing Paputsakis in the final ten minutes.

    The Kimball Union Wildcats fell behind early and could not catch up to a strong Deerfield team, falling 4-1 on Wednesday at Deerfield. After spotting the hosts a two-goal lead in the first, the Wildcats pressed for a goal early in the second only to have Deerfield capitalize on a turnover to take a 3-0 lead. A terrific individual effort by junior Sullivan Mack put KUA on the board late in the second, but Deerfield extended the lead early in the third and held on for the win.

    Junior goalie Zach Paputsakis made 23 saves and four different players found the back of the net for KUA as the Wildcats won their eighth game in a row, beating St. Paul’s 4-1 on Saturday in Meriden. KUA jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period on goals from Paul Dore (1G, 1A) and Brian Carrabes (1G, 1A). In the second, Christian Felton (1G) and Zach Taylor (1G) doubled the total as the Wildcats took a 4-0 lead into the third period. St. Paul’s earned one goal back midway through the third but Paputsakis shut the door the rest of the way. Tomas Mazura, Seth Stadheim, Arlo Merritt, and Drew Bennett picked up assists in the win.

    Junior forward Zach Whitehead scored a hat-trick and added an assist while linemate Tomas Mazura had six points to help the Wildcats to a lopsided 11-0 win over Governor’s Academy on Friday in Meriden. KUA led 3-0 after one period on goals from Mazura (1G, 5A), Drew Bennett (1G, 1A), and Grant Eastwood (1G). KUA then tallied four goals in the second period as Sullivan Mack (1G, 1A), Brian Carrabes (1G, 2A), Arlo Merritt (1G) and Whitehead (3G, 1A) found the back of the net. The third period was more of the same as Teddy Griffin (1G, 1A) and Seth Stadheim (1G) squeezed goals around two more by Whitehead to round out the scoring. Junior goalie Veeti Kohvakka (14 saves) and senior goalie Jonah Silverman (9 saves) combined for the shutout.

    Sullivan Mack had three goals and assist and linemate Tomas Mazura had a goal and three assists to help lead the Kimball Union Wildcats to a 7-0 victory over Vermont Academy on Wednesday in Meriden. Mack opened the scoring three minutes into the game when he scored on a rebound and Paul Dore extended the lead to 2-0 when Seth Stadheim forced a turnover and found Dore in front, who beat the Vermont goalie with a nice deke. In the second, KUA kept pressing as Mack sandwiched two more goals around an impressive goal by Mazura, who batted a rebound out of mid-air and into the net. With a 5-0 heading into the third, KUA continued to apply the pressure as Brian Carrabes and Donte Pierre scored to round out the action. Goalies Zach Paputsakis (18 saves) and Jonah Silverman (5 saves) combined for the shutout.

    Five different scorers found the back of the net and junior Veeti Kohvakka made 22 saves as the Kimball Union Wildcats beat Rivers 5-3 to capture the Nichols Holiday Tournament in Buffalo. Zach Whitehead opened the scoring in the first period off a nice feed from Tomas Mazura. The score remained that way until the second when Sullivan Mack, off a nice pass from Seth Stadheim, made it 2-0 KUA. Rivers tallied early in the third, but Kyle Penney scored a powerplay goal for the Wildcats to restore the two-goal lead. Drew Bennett added another powerplay goal to stretch the lead and a Brian Carrabes, sandwiched by two late Rivers’ goals finished the scoring for KUA.

     A dominant team effort, which resulted in a 29-7 shots-on-goal advantage, propelled the Kimball Union Wildcats to a 4-0 victory over Brunswick in the second game of the Nichols School Tournament in Buffalo. After a scoreless first period, junior Tomas Mazura set up fellow junior Sullivan Mack in the slot early in the second period and Mack beat the Brunswick goalie to the five-hole to open the scoring. Minutes later Mazura made a great play on a 2-on-1 to set up junior Zach Whitehead who buried the puck to give KUA a 2-0 lead after two. Mack also assisted on the play. In the third, senior Arlo Merritt scored on the rush off a feed from classmate Drew Bennett and Bennett rounded out the scoring late in the game when senior Kyle Penney set him up for a short-handed goal.   • Junior Trio Propel Wildcats to Win Over Belmont Hill

    In the second game of the day, KUA got a goal and two assists apiece from juniors Tomas Mazura, Zach Whitehead, and Sullivan Mack to top Belmont Hill at the Nichols Tournament.  Kyle Penney scored a breakaway goal in the first period but Belmont Hill tied the game late in the first and had many chances to pull ahead but for some great saves from KUA’s Zach Paputsakis (23 saves). The line of Mazura, Mack, and Whitehead took control in the second and Arlo Merritt buried a wrist shot in the third to give KUA a four-goal lead before Belmont Hill added a late goal.

  • KUA Beats Millbrook in Tournament Opener

    Junior forward Brian Carrabes had two goals and an assist to help lead the Kimball Union Wildcats past Millbrook 5-2 in the opening game on the Nichols School Tournament in Buffalo, NY on Friday. Carrabes opened the scoring just a minute into the game after senior Seth Stadheim forced a turnover in the Millbrook end and found Carrabes in the slot, who beat the goalie to the glove side. Senior captain Kyle Penney made it 2-0 KUA with a powerplay goal later in the first. In the second, Millbrook sandwiched two goals around a goal by KUA’s Arlo Merritt, making the score 3-2 after two. In the third, Carrabes set up junior Paul Dore who converted from the slot to restore the two-goal lead. Minutes later Dore returned the favor, setting up Carrabes on a two-on-one to round out the scoring. Zach Paputsakis earned the win in net for the Wildcats.

  • Wildcats Beat Mustangs to Finish Flood-Marr

    Junior goalie Zach Paputsakis made 18 saves and four different scorers found the back of the net as the KUA Wildcats shutout the Milton Academy Mustangs 4-0 in the Sunday morning game at the Flood-Marr Tournament in Boston. KUA jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period on goals by Arlo Merritt and Sullivan Mack. The score remained that way until the third when Paul Dore and Zach Whitehead both scored to give KUA the four-goal cushion. KUA’s Kyle Penney was named to the Flood-Marr’s All-Tournament Team.

  • KUA Falls in Overtime

    Despite jumping out to an early 2-0 first-period lead, the Kimball Union Wildcats could not hold on as Deerfield battled back to tie the game in the third period before getting a fortuitous bounce in overtime to claim victory. Things started well for KUA, as junior Paul Dore potted a rebound off a Tomas Mazura shot, with Brian Carrabes also earning an assist. Later in the first, Arlo Merritt made a nice play in the neutral zone to feed Drew Bennett who fed Zach Taylor driving the net. Taylor cashed in to make it 2-0 KUA. Deerfield scored once in the second and again in the third while KUA could not gain separation, thanks in large part to Deerfield’s goaltender. In overtime, a loose puck bounced off a KUA defender and then bounced into the net off a Deerfield forward to give the Big Green the win.

  • Salisbury Tops KUA in First Game of Flood-Marr

    In the first of two games on the day at the Flood-Marr Tournament in Boston, the Kimball Union Wildcats fell 3-0 to Salisbury in a rematch of last year’s NEPSAC championship game. The matchup was relatively even throughout, with KUA holding the shots-on-goal edge, but Salisbury opened the scoring in the first and added two goals minutes apart in the second to secure the win. Zach Paputsakis made 21 saves in net for KUA.

    In the second game of the day, the Wildcats got an outstanding 22-save shutout from junior Veeti Kohvakka and senior Arlo Merritt scored in overtime as KUA knocked off the #1 ranked Noble and Greenough School. Kohvakka made several big stops in regulation and overtime, setting the stage for Merritt, with assists from Drew Bennett and Zach Taylor, to net the winner.

  • Third Period Goals Lift Tilton Over KUA

    Tilton School used great goaltending and physical play to top the Kimball Union Wildcats 2-1 in Lake Region play on Saturday in Meriden. After a scoreless first period, Lyme’s Seth Stadheim intercepted a Tilton clearing pass and buried a wrist shot past the goalie to give KUA a 1-0 lead, which it held into the third period. But two quick goals from Tilton at the beginning of the third gave the visitors a lead they would not relinquish. Veeti Kohvakka was the hard-luck loser in net, making 26 saves and keeping KUA within striking distance.

    Five different scorers found the back of the net and goalie Zach Paputsakis made 17 saves as the Kimball Union Wildcats beat Brewster Academy 5-1 on Friday in Wolfeboro. KUA took a commanding 3-0 lead into the first intermission on goals from Tomas Mazura, Arlo Merritt, and Brian Carrabes. KUA made it 4-0 in the second when Zach Taylor scored a powerplay goal on a nice set-up from Mazura and Kyle Penney. Brewster got one goal back late in the second and KUA’s Drew Bennett tipped home a Ben Tardiff shot in the third to complete the scoring.

    Drew Bennett scored the first two goals of the game and added an empty-netter in the final minute for the hat-trick to help propel the Kimball Union Wildcats past the Proctor Hornets on Wednesday in Andover. In the second period Tomas Mazura added a highlight-reel penalty-shot goal and Kyle Penney netted the eventual game winner with a bar-down wrist shot on the power play. Seth Stadheim added an insurance marker in the third. Brian Carrabes and Teddy Griffin added two assists apiece and Veeti Kohvakka made 29 saves to earn the win.

    The Kimball Union Wildcats used a balanced attack, getting goals from seven different players, to score a 7-3 win over Brunswick School (CT) at the Exeter Invitational on Sunday. First period goals by Seth Stadheim (1G, 1A) and Kyle Penney (1G, 1A) allowed KUA to escape a slow start with a 2-2 tie after one period. In the second, Arlo Merritt (1G) scored a short-handed goal and Tomas Mazura (1G, 1A) netted the eventual game winner to break a 3-3 tie. The third period was all KUA as the Wildcats scored three goals, with Zach Taylor (1G), Paul Dore (1G, 2A), and freshman defenseman Connor Chalmers (1G) lighting the lamp. Veeti Kohvakka made 22 saves for the win in net.

    The Kimball Union Wildcats peppered Vermont Academy with 68 shots on goal en route to a 5-3 win at the Exeter Invitational on Saturday. KUA jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals by Zach Taylor, Sullivan Mack, and Seth Stadheim. Vermont earned a goal back at the end of the first and eventually tied the game with a goal in the second and another at the beginning of the third. But Tomas Mazura, off assists from Zach Whitehead and Devan Newhook, put KUA ahead for good late in the third period. Drew Bennett added an insurance marker with two minutes to play.

    Northwood School went 3 for 11 on the powerplay, inlcuding a 4-on-3 goal in overtime, to top the Wildcats in exhibition play at the Stanstead College Showcase. Arlo Merritt, Paul Dore, and Zach Taylor tallied for KUA while Veeti Kohvakka made 28 saves, including many excellent ones, while taking the loss in net.

  • Wildcats Begin Season with Win

    In the first game of the season, senior Zach Taylor scored two third-period goals to lift the Kimball Union Wildcats to a 5-3 win over Stanstead College in Quebec on Saturday. Late in the third, with the game tied at three, Taylor tipped home a Kyle Penney point shot and then added an empty-netter minutes later to ice the victory. 
     
    The Wildcats got off to a rough start, falling behind 1-0 before Penney cashed in on the powerplay to tie the game. However, Stanstead kept pressing and scored late in the first to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission. In the second, KUA came out strong and took a 3-2 lead on goals from juniors Paul Dore and Sullivan Mack. Stanstead then scored a powerplay goal to knot the game at three after two periods. Junior goalie Zach Paputsakis made 27 saves for the win in his first game as a Wildcat while junior Tomas Mazura added two assists.
