Samuel attended the University of Vermont where he graduated with a degree in Education and Mathematics. During his time at UVM he was a member of a research team that studied Embodied Cognition, where he measured the level of cognitive connections that students can make when learning new concepts through bodily movements. In addition, Samuel traveled to New Zealand where he conducted his own research focusing on values, norms, and pedagogy of the Kiwi school systems.
When not in the classroom Samuel enjoys downhill skiing, playing tennis, or jamming on the guitar.
