    2023 - 2024

    The Kimball Union Academy boys’ basketball program is a member of the highly competitive NEPSAC AA conference which has representation throughout New England. In addition to KUA’s NEPSAC AA competition, we schedule with some of the region’s top programs in NEPSAC AAA, A, and B. The program has historically achieved strong seasons that have garnered post-season tournament invites while seeing many of its student athletes land collegiate playing opportunities after graduating from The Hilltop. Many former Wildcat student athletes have played and continue to compete at top DI, DII, and DIII institutions. Recent graduates have moved on to programs such as NC State, William & Marry, Utah State, Towson State, Niagara, Dartmouth, Quinnipiac, Adelphi, Bentley, Lemoyne, Connecticut College, Ithaca, Pomona Pitzer, RIT, WPI, Kenyon, and Dickinson. Some former Wildcats have enjoyed professional careers with Nathan Knight ’16 the most notable, as a he heads into his third season in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise.

  • KUA bounces back with win vs Holderness

    KUA found itself down by 1 at half-time 29-30 to the Bulls of Holderness School and then grinded out an overtime win by 9.  Contributions from Josh Decady and Isaiah Henderson paced the offense for the Wildcats.  The defensive efforts of Charlie Williams, Max McClure and Nathan Clay were just as important in securing the win.
  • KUA drops one on the Road

    KUA was without two starters as they traveled down to Saxtons River Monday night.  Those that were dressed competed hard but didn't quite have enough offensive production to keep pace with super talented Vermont Academy squad.  KUA plays Holderness at home on Weds.
  • KUA BVB victorious on Senior Day

    KUA BVB seniors Max McClure, Liam Price, Josh Decady, and Nico Miles got the start in one of their few remaining contests at Alumni Gymnasium on Senior Day.  KUA hosted NEPSAC AA rival Darrow School and saw all four seniors make their way into the scoring column and contribute to the victory throughout the contest in numerous ways.  
  • KUA BVB picks up Home W vs Tilton

    KUA BVB bounced back less than 24 hrs later to pick up a win vs a Lakes Region/NEPSAC rival and complete the season sweep of Tilton School.  The defensive effort was high level and the offensive attack was balanced led by Josh Decady and Isaiah Henderson with strong performances by Liam Price and Brando Arnold as well.  The defensive highlights were led by Nathan Clay and strong contributions of that end of the floor by Paul McGillion and Mike Sadowski.
  • KUA BVB drops one to BCA

    Bradford Christian Academy brought their A game and their #8 ranking in the recent Prep School rankings to The Hilltop on Tuesday night.  KUA struggled out of the gates and never really recovered.  With KUA being their lone regular season blemish in 2022-23 season, BCA came ready to not allow a repeat of last year's result. KUA BVB has a quick turnaround as they face Lakes Region/NEPSAC AA rival Tilton School at 4:30pm Wednesday, Feb 7th.
  • KUA Picks up W on the road at Governors

    KUA BVB traveled to Winchendon School Saturday afternoon for a 2pm NEPSAC AA contest.  KUA simply couldn't find any consistency on the offensive end and dropped one to the Wapiti.  Wapiti will travel to The Hilltop on the final day of the regular season Saturday, Feb 24th.
  • KUA Wins a nail biter at Governors Academy

    KUA BVB pulls out a close two point win on the road.  KUA had bulit a couple of double digit leads throughout the contest only to watch Govs utilize the three point line with timely 3 point buckets in the second half to eventually build their own 7 point lead.  27 points from Isaiah Henderson paced the Wildcats scoring attack.
  • KUA BVB drops LR contest to VA

    The Kimball Union Academy boys varsity basketball team dropped a hard fought battle to a very strong Vermont Academy squad 56-45. The game was a defensive battle from tip off to final horn with Vermont Academy pulling away late. Kimball union Academy had its opportunities late in the contest only down a couple possessions but unfortunately weren't able to convert at the free throw line to keep the game within striking distance. A hard fought battle and we are proud of the boy's efforts!
  • KUA BVB Pick up another W at home

    The Kimball Union Academy boys varsity basketball picked up another victory at home in front of The Hilltop faithful over NEPSAC AA rival masters school from central Connecticut. The first half saw a low scoring affair with both teams heading into the locker room nodded at 26 all. Kimball union Academy broke away in the second-half to ultimately earn the 69-53 victory.
  • KUA BVB picks up a W over Deerfield

    The Kimball Union Academy boys varsity basketball picked up a much needed win at home versus Deerfield Academy on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats were able to stretch double digit leads out a few times during the game only to watch Deerfield continue to battle back to the final buzzer. Josh DeCady and Isaiah Henderson paste the way on the offensive end with 21 points and 14 points respectively while Liam Price and Brandon Arnold also chipped in offensively in what was a very low scoring affair.
  • KUA drops a close one to NEPSAC AA rival St. Andrew's

    KUA BVB traveled to Barrington, RI to take on St Andrew's School prep squad in a Friday afternoon contest.  With several lead swings throughout the game, ultimately KUA boys came up a 3 pointer shy of traveling back north with a victory.  8 players contributed in the scoring column and were paced by Isaiah Henderson's 33 pts with including 16/16 from the free throw line.  KUA boys will finally enjoy a stretch of home games with Vermont Academy, Deerfield Academy, and Bradford Christian Academy making their way to The Hilltop this coming week.
  • KUA drops one on the Road

    KUA BVB travelled to Brimmer School in the Boston suburbs to take on the Gators.  An earlier second half run by the host team created a deficit that KUA was eventually was able to regroup and chip away at but ultimately fell by double digits in this Wednesday night NEPSAC AA contest.  Josh Decady and Isaiah Henderson paced the way with 16pts and 14pts resctively.  KUA travels to RI on Friday night to take on NEPSAC AA rival St Andrews School.
  • BVB drops LR contest NHS

    KUA BVB traveled to New Hampton to take on a very strong Huskies squad.  Over the intial ten minutes of the game, KUA stayed within a possession of the home team.  The Huskies three point shooting caught fire and KUA could never really recover for the remainder of the game.  Josh Decady and Charlie Williams found their way into double digit scoring.
  • KUA BVB opens '24 with W over LR rival SPS

    As part of a double header that saw a sold out crowd of over 2,500 fans in Portland, Maine, KUA took on Lakes Region rival St Paul's School.  This event was held at the Portland Expo dubbed The Maine Event due to the multiple student athletes that hail from the state of Maine including Coach McClure.  KUA got off to a slow start but eventually settled in and played solid team basketball.  Scoring production was spread out over with Josh Decady, Charlie Williams, and Zay Henderson al in double digits.  
  • KUA comes up short to Lawrence Academy

    The KUA boys traveled to RI just before the holiday break to take part in the St. Andrew's Holiday Classic on the campus of St Andrew's School in Barrington, RI.  KUA matched up with Lawrence Academy and it was a tight competitive contest throughout with many lead changes in both halves.  In the end, Lawrence Academy took advantage of KUA's several missed FT opportunities late and took the loss 65-63.  KUA was paced by 20 pts, 9 rebounds by Josh Decady, 12 pts and 3 stls from Nathan Clay and a team high 25pts from Isaiah Henderson connecting on 5-3pt shots in the game.  Game 2 of the weekend will tip-off at 1:30pm vs. Topflight Academy from Ottawa Canada.
  • KUA finishes turns the page on 2023 with a W

    KUA finished the 2023 portion of their schedule with a strong showing on our last day at the St. Andrew's Holiday Classic.  All members of the team saw significant minutes in the contest with 10 finding their way into the scoring column led by Isaiah Henderson w/ 21, Brandon Arnold w/ 20, Aidan Fenkl w/ 12 and Josh Decady w/ 11.  KUA heads into the Holiday break .500 with a 4-4 record.
  • Holderness helped KUA kicke off the season!

    Holderness traveled to KUA on the Friday before break to scrimmage KUA BVB.  While no score or statistics were kept, both programs benefitted greatly and learned a lot about their team.  This will be valuable for both teams as they begin their respective game schedules after the Thanksgiving break.
  • KUA BVB drops it's first NEPSAC AA contest

    KUA bounced back from it's Saturday loss and led Chesire Academy for the majority of the game a simply ran out of gas late. KUA was led by the efforts of Hofstra signee Josh Decady '24 on both ends of the floor and by the stellar defensive efforts of Nathan Clay '25 and Brandon Arnold '25.

    KUA goes back to work looking for it's first win of the season at Proctor Academy on Weds 12/6.
  • KUA BVB drops season opener to Thayer Academy

    KUA BVB traveled to Stoughton, MA to take Thayer Academy in a non-conference contest at the Zero Gravity Prep Classic.  The boys traveled a bit short handed and while they had their opportunities to pull out a victory, ultimately Thayer made a few more successful plays down the stretch. KUA takes on NEPSC AA rival Cheshire Academy on Sunday of the same event.
  • KUA BVB secures first win of the season at Proctor

    KUA BVB traveled to Lakes Region rival Proctor Academy and came away with it's first victory of the season! Isaiah Henderson had success in his season debut with a game high 26pts which included 2 -3's and 10 for 10 from the charity stripe.  Charlie Williams and Aidan Fenkl chipped in with 13 and 11 points respectively.  KUA makes it's annual trek down to Worcester Academy this weekend to take part in the Thomas Blackburn Memorial Tournament vs. Tilton School on Saturday December, 9th at 1:30pm.
  • KUA BVB wins 2nd straight

    KUA was victorious in it's opening round game of the Blackburn Tournament at Worcester Academy.  A strong defensive effort by both squads was the real story of this contest...and the scoring outburst on newcomer Isaiah Henderson '25 who led all scorers with 31 points with a 17 for 17 showing from the FT line.  Josh Decady anchored the defensive efforts and contributed 13 pts, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks and Liam Price chipped in with another 11pts in a strong all around effort.
  • KUA earns a hard fought NEPSAC AA win on the road

    KUA BVB traveled to Wilbraham, MA to take on conference rival Wilbraham and Monson for the Wednesday night tip-off.  The contest was close throughout with several lead changes.  The boys saw all 11 of their teammates enter the contest with 4 scoring in double figures led by Isaiah Henderson w/ 17pts, Josh Decady with 15pts and Nathan Clay and Charlie Williams with 10 apiece.  KUA boys finish 2023 on the road in RI this weekend at the St Andrew's Holiday Classic with contests against Lawrence Academy and a club from Canada.
  • KUA falls in Blackburn Championship to host WA

    Another strong defensive effort by the KUA BVB squad held NEPSAC defending champion to 61 points but couldn't find the bottom of the basket enough to find its way to a third straight victory.  Strong efforts by Isaiah Henderson with 19pts and Aidan Fenkl, Niko Miles, and Nathan Clay were notable but in the end fell a bit short.  KUA is off until Wednesday, December 13th when they hit the road again for a contest with NEPSAC AA opponent Wilbraham and Monson.
  • KUA travelled to Exeter for scrimmage

    KUA traveled to Exeter on the Saturday before break to scrimmage.  The second scrimmage in as many days, and again no score or statistics were kept, both programs benefitted greatly and learned a lot about their teams.  More valuable information was learned for both teams as they both make preparations for successful seasons after the Thanksgiving break.  KUA will kick off the season at Zero Gravity Prep Classic in Stoughton, MA vs Thayer Academy and Chesire Academy on December 2nd and 3rd respectively!
