Community Service
The Kimball Union Fire Brigade is one of the most unique and active firefighter programs for students in the country. This well-organized program gives students an opportunity to learn the principals of firefighting while developing leadership skills and performing an important service to the community.

The Kimball Union Fire Brigade was instituted in 1977 as a result of a prank. A fire alarm was pulled and footprints in the snow led to the culprits. Remorseful students proposed helping the fire department in order to atone for their actions. Since that day, Kimball Union students from around the world have worked side-by-side with members of the Meriden FireVolunteer Fire Department to serve the community.
