Student Life

Overview

    • Welcome Home
Health, happiness, success—our goals for our students are multifaceted and reflect the individual needs and talents of each student.
At KUA, learning happens everywhere, all the time, which means it doesn’t stop when classes are over. Education is delivered in three ways: through curriculum, role models, and problem solving. Students encounter all three of these elements in the classroom, on the sports field, in the theater, in the dorms—everywhere on campus.

Student life is about engaging in the curriculum in ways that allow connections between classrooms and the community to flourish and enrich both arenas. Student life is also about making connections that will last a lifetime. Another critical component of education is learning to meet challenges with energy, critical and creative thinking skills, and the expectation that experience grants wisdom.

Integrated Advising:

The heart and soul of student life is the integrated advising program. One advisor meets one-on-one with students to ensure they are getting the support they need to be as successful as possible in their pursuit of academic and extracurricular excellence.

Each student is assigned an advisor at the beginning of the school year and makes extensive use of their support, both in formal gatherings and impromptu meetings. Whether a student is seeking advice on academics or social issues or simply needs to know that someone is on their team, advisors are there to mentor, guide, and provide support on a wide variety of issues. Advisors are also the primary contact between the Academy and parents.
