Inclement Weather Policy

To inform you of weather delays and cancellations, we will use the Blackboard Connect rapid communication system to call and email the emergency contacts you have provided. We will also post advisories on the homepage and advise local radio and television stations.
Road conditions within the local area can vary greatly. We urge day students and families to use precaution and “safety first” decisions when it comes to winter driving, especially for younger drivers. We ask day parents to assess road conditions in your immediate area, consider local school closings, and, if necessary, keep your child home if it is unsafe to drive. If you decide to keep your child home, please contact the school immediately so we can properly account for each student. Please call 603-469-2000 before 8 a.m. or email Kathy Langevin.
As a matter of course, classes will be held for boarding students and any day students or commuting faculty who can travel safely to campus. On occasion, we may choose to delay the opening of school to allow additional time for day students to arrive for classes. In the event of a delay, we will also use Blackboard Connect.
Day students, who for safety reasons do not travel to campus, are expected to monitor their portal and email for information from teachers on how they might be able to participate in or complete the class work for the day. Faculty are aware of students who are not in attendance for safety reasons and will work with them to get caught up on any class material missed.
In the event that weather conditions worsen during the class day we may make the decision to release day students early. In the event of an early dismissal we will not release your student until we hear directly from you. If you decide to pick your student up early, or want your child to be released early due to weather, please contact Kathy Langevin in the Student Life Office at 603-469-2000. In severe weather conditions, we can also make accommodations available on campus for students who need to stay over if it is unsafe to drive.

If the decision is made to release students early we will post a notice on the homepage of our website and use the Blackboard Connect communication system.
