Boys' Varsity Hockey: 2018 Lakes Region Champions
And NEPSAC Tournament Updates
On Saturday night, KUA hosted both The Boys’ and Girls’ 2018 Lakes Region Championship games with each team going head-to-head, Black-and-Orange vs Black-and-Orange, Wildcats vs Wildcats, with longtime rivals, Vermont Academy.
On Saturday night, KUA hosted both The Boys’ and Girls’ 2018 Lakes Region Championship games with each team going head-to-head, Black-and-Orange vs Black-and-Orange, Wildcats vs Wildcats, with longtime rivals, Vermont Academy.
In the Boys’ game, The KUA Wildcats played hard, kicking off the first period with two quick goals by Jordan ’18 and Drew ’19. In the second, Vermont cut the lead in half before Devan ’19 restored the two-goal lead. Late in the third, Bryce ’18 put the game on ice with and empty-net goal. Goalie Sean ’18, was sharp in the net for KUA, making 15 saves while KUA peppered the VA goalie with 50 shots on net. With the 4-1 victory, the KUA wildcats took home the Lakes Region Championship trophy.
In the Girls’ game that followed, KUA suffered a tough loss to the VA Wildcats. After a scoreless first period, VA struck first with two goals in the first half of the second period. KUA cut the lead in half near the end of the second but, despite outshooting VA 24-16, The KUA Wildcats just could not get the 2nd goal, finishing second place in the Lakes Region Tournament with a regular season record of 14-5-5.
This coming Wednesday, KUA’s four Varsity Basketball and Hockey teams continue post-season play and enter the quarterfinal games of the NEPSAC tournaments to fight for the New England Championships.

5:00pm @Tilton School – Boys’ Varsity Basketball (Seed #8) vs Tilton Academy (Seed #1)
5:45pm @KUA – Boys’ Varsity Hockey (Seed #3) vs Phillips Exeter Academy (Seed #6)
