KUA Soccer Teams Participate in Intense Summer Training

Excitement for fall sports is building on campus! As the summer draws to a close, our student-athletes have begun their fall sport seasons with vigor.
The KUA Girls’ Soccer team prepared for the season by returning to Team Prep Camp in Maine. At this five-day camp, new and returning players came together for the first time all year. Head Coach Dan Weintraub notes that preseason is not just an opportunity to prepare and get a gauge for the coming season, but also for new players to get to know the team, and for returning players to reconnect after a long summer. The coaches even treat the team to Dunkin Donuts and hot chocolate after the long days of drills!

The KUA Boys’ Soccer team recently wrapped up their preseason training at the Philadelphia Union’s Power Training Complex. This unique opportunity came about thanks to former Dartmouth College Soccer Coach Jeff Cook. While at Power Training Complex, the 14 returning and 3 new members of the team came together for team building and bonding exercises, and to play against some other teams for the first time this season. One of the many highlights of the camp was when the team got to watch a professional match between Philadelphia Union and Atlanta United, which highly motivated the team for the season ahead.

Both teams are coming off of record-setting seasons; the girls’ team reigned as NEPSAC Class C Champions, and our boys’ team made a successful appearance at the NEPSAC tournament. Catch our athletes in action at www.kua.org/watchgameslive with livestreamed games on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In addition, make sure you never miss a match by checking our athletic calendar online.
