"Cats sting Hornets for Win

KUA's JV Girls' hoop team traveled to Andover, NH and played a terrific game on both ends of the court, almost doubling their offensive output from the first game of the season, to win their first game of the 2019-2020 campaign. Known for their swarming defense, the Wildcats clawed out to an early lead and never looked back. Points were scored by many players, led by Kate Mackey '20, who dominated the inside and racked up 18 points. Senior Haley McNamara threw down daggers from three point range and finished with 8 points. It was a great game for first year point guard Lindsey Patten '23, who was the floor general and drained 7 points, including a three ball of her own. Nangsel Tenzing Norgay scored her first points of her career and Maddy Bridge '21, Vanessa Mateko '20, and Nikki Petrescu-Boboc '20 were all over the floor with a defense that never let the Rams get close. It was a great team win as the Wildcats head into the holiday break energized with optimism for the rest of the season.
