Students and Faculty Visit China

In July, a group of Kimball Union Students and Faculty visited Shanghai, China to participate in the 2019 Global Alliance for Innovative Learning (GAIL) Convention.

Comprised of eight schools that span the globe, GAIL is a progressive confederation of forward-thinking, independent, co-educational institutions committed to developing informed, globally-active learning communities. GAIL schools are committed to working toward contemporary solutions to international issues through collaboration, inquiry, and service-learning initiatives. Kimball Union is the American GAIL school member and hosted the 2018 convention.

The week of the convention in Shanghai, hosted by the Western International School of Shanghai (WISS), was bookended with sightseeing before and after. Students had the opportunity to visit cultural sites including The Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, and The National Center for Performing Arts.
