Walk-Off Win for Senior Game

A walk off fielders choice by Zach Papustakis in the bottom of the 7th, sealed the victory for JV Baseball on Senior Day. There were many highlights during the day, with a victory capping off an season that saw the team go unbeaten when there were umpires present. Cam Tucker started by throwing 2+ innings on the mound and held Proctor to 1 run. Jon Bruner, Zach Taylor, Daniel Salem and Kyle Penny all took turns on the mound trying to shut down a formitable offense. The play behind the pitchers was solid all day, making plays look routine a lot of the time. There was a runner gunned down at the plate trying to score from second on a single to center field. Proctor tried a double steal, and Devan Newhook tagged him out after Sully Mack caught him in a run down. Sully also turned an unassisted double play at 2nd, and Kyle caguht a runner sleeping and doubled him off at 3rd after not tagging up. The defense kept KUA alive and gave us the opportunity to win.
In the end it was the bats and some heads up base running that sealed the win. Jon Bruner had 2 runs scored on the day, and reached base 3 times. Grant Eastwood and Sully Mack both Scored a run, with Sully getting an RBI. Kyle Penny scored 3 times, including stealing home to tie the game. But in the bottom of the 7th, with the bases loaded and nobody out, Big Paps stepped to the plate, and hit a ball towards first base, allowing Sully Mack to beat the throw home, and win the game, in walk off fashion!
Everyone on the roster got in the game, and contributed in one way or another. With a T-Shirt toss between innings, bubble gum give away and walk up music for both teams, JV Baseball has set the bar high for any team to come.
Thank you for a great season
