Seniors Lead Wildcats to Win

Seniors Chloe Rourke-Nicholas, Seana Perkins, and Scout Beaupre all had big days to lead the Wildcats past the Brewster Bobcats in Wolfeboro on Monday. After the Wildcats gave up a lead in the second inning, Rourke-Nicholas came in to pitch in relief and proceeded to throw five shutout innings while striking out two. Perkins went 3-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored while Beaupre had two hits, two walks, and four runs scored. A strong junior class also contributed for KUA, as Olivia Larose had three hits and four runs scored while Maddy Haynes and Katherine Lawton each scored three. Fellow junior Kate Mackey was stellar defensively at first base. The freshman class was not to be outdone, as Abby Flanagan had two singles, a double, four RBIs, and three runs scored and classmates Shannon Moran and Audrey Donahue each had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored. Defensively, Lawton was sharp behind the plate while Beaupre made key plays, including turning two double plays, at shortstop. Rourke-Nicholas also snagged a comeback line drive on the mound with remarkable quickness and hand-eye coordination, reminiscent of the many hockey goalies on the KUA roster.
