The Wildcats Play the Hornets

The Kimball Union Wildcats were excited to play this Wednesday after being rained out of their last two games. The team traveled to Proctor Academy to play the Hornets on turf. Proctor opened up the play with a few quick goals. The KUA defense adjusted its game to crashing earlier and marking up making it more difficult for the Proctor girls to drive to the net. Freshman Ally Woo-Sam played excellent defense, marking stick-to-stick on her cutters. Midfielders junior Lexy Gray, freshman Helena Heckmann, and freshman Katie Ayers hustled the full field so that they could support their team on the offensive and defensive sides. Sophomore Amelia Keith played an incredible game in net saving 14 shots on goal. Keith even had an interception from the crease! Sophomore Tess Boden, freshman Margot Frost, and Heckmann led the team with ground balls, each earning three. Sophomore Ellie Stedina scored KUA’s lone goal near the end of the first half with a drive to net from the top. The Wildcats play next Wednesday against Holderness at home at 2:30.
