Offense Carries KUA to Victory

After a rough first inning, which saw the Wildcats down 11-1, Kimball Union stormed back and eventually earned the mercy-rule 39-19 win over Holderness on Wednesday in Plymouth. Despite the runs against, many of which were the result of defensive miscues, KUA pitcher Casey McCauley was solid on the mound, striking out six batters in five innings. Shannon Moran was equally strong behind the plate. Offensively, Scout Beaupre led the way with five runs scored on three walks, a triple, and a monster three-run home run that soared over the fence in left field. Seana Perkins, Maddy Haynes, and Audrey Donahue also reached base five times and scored five runs each. Olivia LaRose and Chloe Rourke-Nicholas each scored four runs. Abby Flanagan added three runs of her own and had a double and a triple at the plate while Lu Rodriguez scored a run and added an RBI single.
