Holderness Defeats a Shorthanded KUA Squad

The Wildcats put forth a valiant effort on Saturday with many key players not in uniform. After falling behind 3-0 early in the first Jack Bolg won a faceoff and Jay Chubb assisted Peyton Cepetelli to wake up the Wildcats. Senior defenseman Hayes Huwiler and goalie Teddy Griffin helped steady the KUA defense heading into the 2Q down 4-1. Reserve attackman Jack Isabell scored 2 of his 4 goals in the second quarter and freshman Griffin Hately added one to tie the score 4-4 late in the second. Senior Will Kezerian scored on man up to put KUA on top heading into the half.

Holderness opened the scoring in the 3Q off an errant pass that skipped off a KUA defender and found the net. Teddy Griffin was fantastic in the net all day making 16 saves. Jack Isabell scored again off a brilliant feed from Chubb to knot the score at 6-6 heading into the final frame. Holderness' GB and faceoff advantage was the difference in the 4Q as they raced out to a 10-6 lead. KUA was stymied by the Holderness goalie many times as they mounted a comeback. Will Kezerian and Carson Moe scored in the 4Q to narrow the score to 10-8, but it was too little to late.
