Good Start Not Enough as Wildcats Stung by Hornets

The top half of the first inning saw the visiting KUA Wildcats take a 4-0 lead over the Proctor Hornets, but some defensive miscues and potent Proctor bats prevailed in the end, taking a 17-7 decision. Maddy Haynes and Scout Beaupre once again led the offensive attack, scoring twice each, while first-year player Abby Flanagan continued to look like a softball lifer, belting two hits and an RBI. Chloe Rourke-Nicholas added an RBI double. Rourke-Nicholas and Beaupre were stellar defensively as well, each making several great plays, some of the diving variety. The battery of pitcher Casey McCauley and catcher Katherine Lawton went the distance for the Wildcats.
