Spaulding's Complete Game Highlights Wildcats' Win

Senior Noah Spaulding threw a complete game four-hitter for the Wildcats to get the win on the mound. KUA and St. Paul’s both played a strong defensive game, with KUA committing the only error of the game. KUA earned all three of their runs in the third inning. Spaulding led off with an infield hit, Jeremy Sigl followed with a single to right field that moved Spaulding to third. After Sigl stole second, Jonah Silverman hit a sacrifice fly to center to plate Spaulding. Andrew Hadlock moved Sigl to third on a fielder’s choice grounder to first base. Trey Parker’s single to center field scored Sigl. Brian Carrabes then singled to center to move Parker into scoring position. Kyle Young singled to center field to score Parker to build the lead to 3-0. St. Paul’s scored one in the bottom of the third and another in the home half of the fifth, and that was it despite stranding a lead-off walk and the tying run at 3B in the seventh as Spaulding retired the next three hitters with a ground out, strikeout and fly out to end the game. Silas Nowlan got his first varsity hit, while Tyler Wenning and Andrew Hadlock also added a hit apiece.

KUA is back in action on Friday, 4/26, at home against Vermont Academy. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm at Powers Field.
