KUA Starts Well but Falls to Tilton

Maddy Haynes and Scout Beaupre each had two hits and two runs scored, but the Wildcats fell to Tilton on the road. Beaupre led off the game with a single and Haynes cranked a triple to bring Beaupre home. Katherine Lawton’s deep sacrifice fly scored Haynes during the next at-bat. Tilton answered in its half of the first, taking advantage of a couple of defensive miscues by KUA while putting up seven runs. In the third, Beaupre and Haynes repeated their first-inning performance, with Beaupre singling and Haynes reaching third on an infield hit and an errant throw. Haynes later scored on a passed ball. The highlights were few after that for the Wildcats, though Olivia LaRose went 1-for-2 at the plate and had several nice catches in left field and Shannon Moran was excellent behind the plate as KUA’s catcher. Casey McCauley and Kate Mackey shared the pitching duties.
