KUA Wins Second League Game Versus Tough Rams Team

Mike Van Dolah
KUA goes up early and then comes from behind to beat Tilton.
Trey Parker pitched his second win of the season, while Noah Spaulding got his second save of the year with his two innings of scoreless work. Parker gave up three earned runs on two Tilton hits and four walks while striking out 7 in his five innings of work.

Brian Carrabes and Parker each had two hits on the day and scored a run apiece, while Spaulding, Jonah Silverman, Drew Bennett and Tyler Wenning each added a hit, while Parker, Andrew Hadlock and Bennett each had RBI. KUA made big plays defensively at key moments in the game, and second baseman Jeremy Sigl made two highlight-reel plays early in the game so Tilton didn’t gain any momentum.

Bennett's line drive single to center in the top of the second scored Brian Carrabes after he singled and stole second to get in scoring position.  Then in the third inning, after loading the bases with no outs, KUA scored their second run on a fielders choice grounder. Tilton escaped with a double play to end the inning. Tilton plated four runs in their half of the fourth inning. KUA responded with three of their own in the next half inning. Spaulding led off with a single, Silverman followed with a single of his own, and Parker doubled to the left-center gap. This plated two runs with the help of a Tilton throwing error. Then Hadlock grounded into a second fielders choice for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning RBI, as Parker scored.

KUA is back in action Friday against Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, VT. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
