KUA Uses A Big Second Quarter to Defeat Williston

KUA traveled to Williston Wednesday and faced a tough squad who capitalized in transition and at the faceoff X. Despite not winning many draws and not having players available due to injury and illness, the Wildcats rallied behind their seniors for a big win. KUA fell behind early 3-2 due to some quick goals by Williston's faceoff guy and LSM. Dominic Carter scored first and Jack Isabelle scored his first career goal off an assist from Jay Chubb. KUA's defense held strong in the second as Williston continued to test SSDMs Colter Linglebach-Pierce and Max Gessner with little success. Will Kezerian and Dominic Carter helped stretch the lead to 6-3 at the half.

KUA and Williston traded goals in the third and fourth quarter, but Will Kezerian stepped up for 3 second-half goals that were really the difference. Carson Moe added a goal and an assist. KUA was able to effectively manage the clock for the final 6 minutes keeping the dangerous faceoff unit for Williston off the field. The Wildcats did need one key stop in the final quarter up by a goal. Hayes Huwiler was able to put the ball on the ground to thwart the last Williston scoring chance. KUA is now 5-1 on the season and travels to Cushing on Saturday.
