Winter Musical: Mamma Mia!

KUA’s 2019 winter musical production ran February 21 through 23 on the Flickinger Arts Center main stage to rave reviews. The cast included nearly one-quarter of the student body as actors, singers, dancers, and scenic design, construction and tech hands.

The show, a “jukebox musical” that blends a romantic plot with songs based on the music of the Swedish pop group ABBA, takes its name from the band’s 1975 hit single of the same title. Mamma Mia! premiered in London in 1999 and was followed by a feature film version in 2008. KUA’s three performances featured many outstanding performances and high points that brought down the house each night.

With direction by Theater Director David Weidman, choreography by Kay McCabe and Harley Nguyen '20, KUA’s all-student cast was supported by a 10-piece band of students, faculty, and professionals led by Music Director Kevin White.
